Authentication
Your organization’s Admin can enable SSO Authentication for Clarra Users to log in via Google or Microsoft. Only one authentication method can be enabled at a time. To switch authentication methods, disable the existing one before enabling the new one.
To Enable SSO Authentication for your organization:
- Click your Profile Icon on the top right corner of the screen
- Go to Account Settings
- Go to the Integrations tab
- Select “Connect” for either Microsoft or Google Authentication
To Add Users via SSO:
- Click your Profile Icon on the top right corner of the screen
- Go to Account Settings
- Select “+ Add New User”
- Enter the User’s Microsoft or Google email address
Automation Tools
Users can incorporate third-party integrations into Clarra through either Zapier or Clarra's Public API. You can learn about creating Zaps in our article here, or read our guide about Clarra's Public API.
Communications Tools
Clarra has integrations covering both text and email to streamline your workflow.
With Twilio, Users can send and receive SMS messages within Clarra, facilitating communications with clients and external parties while automatically logging messages.
Users can also connect either their Gmail or Microsoft 365 Outlook account to send and receive emails within Clarra. Admin must first enable email integration before Users can connect their email accounts.
Within Outlook, Users can install the Add-in “Log to Clarra” to automatically log their emails to Clarra from the Outlook application.
The Email Bcc feature provides a convenient way to automatically log emails to Clarra from your external email client, by simply including a Matter-specific email address in the Bcc line.
Document Management
Clarra gives Users the ability to integrate the platform with external Document Management Systems (DMS). Supported DMS include iManage, NetDocuments, and Microsoft Sharepoint.
To connect your Sharepoint account to Clarra:
In Azure Portal:
- Open Azure Portal and Navigate to App Registration
- Create New App Registration using default option Single tenant
- Once App Registration is created, navigate to API Permissions

Add a Permission for Sites.ReadWrite.All and Grant Admin consent
- Navigate to Manage/API Permissions in the left navigation

Click on + Add a Permission
- Select Microsoft Graph
- Select Application permissions
- Expand Sites
- Select Sites.ReadWrite.All
- Click Add Permission
- Click Grant admin consent
- Navigate to Certificates and Secrets and create a New Client Secret, copy the Client Secret value, and save it in a text file
In Clarra/Account Settings/Integrations/SharePoint Integration:
- Click Enable Microsoft SharePoint
- Enter App Registration Directory ID, Application Client ID, and Client Secret
To configure SharePoint when creating a Clarra Matter:
In SharePoint:
- Create the Team site for the Matter
- Click on Home in the left navigation
- Navigate to the SharePoint site for the Matter and copy the URL.
- Create a folder in the Document directory for the Site
In Clarra:
- Log in to Clarra and select Matters from the left nav bar
- Create a new Matter or click on the Matter info icon from the quick links menu for the Matter you want to configure and click on “Edit”
- Click on the “Edit” button located to the right of the Documents Directory field to enable editing
- Paste the SharePoint URL that you copied in step 10
- Enter the name of the folder from step 11
- Complete setting up the Clarra Matter, and click Save
- Going forward the files you save in ClarraDocs, Events, and other areas within Clarra will be saved to the folder on the SharePoint Site.
Rules-based Calendaring
CalendarRules offers Users a reliable way to keep track of and update court deadlines and manage their cases accordingly. Users must first sign up for CalendarRules before integrating it with Clarra.
- Go to CalendarRules to sign up.
- Select the jurisdiction you want to include in your subscription. Click here to view the list of jurisdictions and make your selection.
- Submit the Get a Quote Form to CalendarRules. They will contact you to review your subscription and provide a quote. There are discounted packages available based on state and other volume discounts, which CalendarRules can offer after they review the specific jurisdiction you have selected.
- Once you have finalized your subscription and approved the quote, CalendarRules will send you your login token, which needs to be installed in Clarra.

Install your login token in Clarra:
- Click on your Profile Icon
- Select “Account Settings”
- Select the “Integrations” tab
- Scroll to “CalendarRules"
- Press “Connect” to the right
- Click the “Edit” button under the Login Token field
- Copy and paste the login token that was provided to you by CalendarRules
- Press “Save”
CalendarRules will now be enabled for your account, and all Users will have access to automated rules calendaring.
AI and Analytics
Users can take advantage of ClarraDocs AI Summarization as well as AI Timekeeping to make their workflows more efficient.
To Enable AI and Analytics, Clarra must first grant you access. Contact Clarra for more information. Once granted access, AI and Analytics can be enabled in Account Settings:
- Click on your Profile Icon
- Select “Account Settings”
- Select the “Integrations” tab
- Scroll to “ClarraDocs AI Summarization”
- Press “Enable” to the right
- Scroll to “Clarra AI Timekeeping”
- Press “Enable” to the right
