Clarra’s Import feature allows you to seamlessly integrate your existing workflows with Clarra’s easy-to-use interface. The Import feature makes Clarra compatible with forms and organizational methods you and your clients already use, making information transfer convenient and efficient.
The process for importing information is essentially uniform across Clarra’s various sections. Each section has a unique CSV Template for you to download, input relevant information, and upload into Clarra. Make sure to use the CSV Template for the section you want to import information to, so it can automatically map to the linked fields on Clarra.
There are a variety of use cases for the Import feature.
- If you send your client a contact form to fill, you can upload the information from that form directly to Clarra by entering it into the Import Contacts CSV Template.
- If your company uses spreadsheets as timesheets, you can convert those timesheets into timeslips in Clarra by using the Import Timekeeping CSV Template.
- If you generate or receive an invoice outside of Clarra, you can upload that invoice to Clarra by using the Import Invoice CSV Template in the Accounting section.
Let’s go over the import process, using a Contact import as our example.
- Navigate to the section you want to import information to (Contacts)
- Select the three dots next to “+ New Contact”
- Press “Import” in the dropdown menu
- Click “Sample CSV Template” to download the section-specific template
- Fill in the information on downloaded template
- Save the completed template as a CSV file
- Upload the completed template by selecting “Import Data via CSV”
- Press “Import”
- Refresh the page to see the Imported Contact
Depending on the file size, it may take some time for the import to finish uploading. Users will be notified in-app once the import is complete, and if any errors have occurred during the validation process.
Users can also update information within Clarra by using the Import feature. If you want to change information about a Matter, simply import an updated Matter Data CSV file. Clarra will recognize the matching Matter Nos., and update the Matter Info. This is especially useful for bulk updates, so you don’t have to manually enter changes into each field on Clarra.
