Clarra’s Communications features allow Users to effectively organize and track communication records with both internal and external parties. Communications items (calls, emails, texts) that are logged or sent in Clarra are tracked and organized by Matter and Contact.
Within Clarra, Users can send and receive emails by enabling the Gmail and Microsoft 365 Outlook integrations. Emails are organized by their associated Matter and Contacts, automatically logged in the Communications section and Communications tab of associated Matters and Contacts (seen below). Replies to these emails are also automatically logged as part of a thread, allowing for easy tracking of related communications.

Automatic email logging features are also available to Users within their own external email applications. Users can install the Outlook Add-in “Log to Clarra” in the Microsoft 365 Admin Center. With this Add-in, Users can create Communication items, timeslips, and ClarraDocs within Outlook and log them directly to Clarra. The Email Bcc Integration lets Users log emails to Clarra by simply including a Matter-specific email address in the Bcc line of their message from Gmail or Outlook. Both features automatically organize emails by Matter and Contacts, and create easily trackable reply threads.
Users can also send and receive text messages with the Twilio integration, which are then automatically logged in the Communication section and Communications tabs of associated Matters and Contacts. Replies to text messages are placed in easily trackable threads.
Users can even manually log external calls, texts, and emails to Clarra, including relevant descriptions and attachments, and organize them by Matter and Contact.
Time Tracking features also extend into Communications, allowing you to enter a duration or use the running timer when sending or logging a call, text, or email. When a duration is entered, a timeslip for the Communications item is automatically generated.
