When creating Custom Fields, two of the Field Types available are Major Section Headers and Section Headers. These options allow you to better organize your Custom Fields within Matters, Contacts, and Plaintiffs.
First, let’s distinguish between Major Section Headers and Section Headers.
- Major Section Headers are the white text that appears along blue banners. In the example below, “Team Members” is a Major Section Header
- Section Headers are the blue text that appears beneath those blue banners. In the example below, “Lead Attorney” and “Docketing Users” are Section Headers
You may find yourself wanting to make custom Section Headers to organize your Custom Fields and Custom Field Groups. Fortunately, doing so follows the same steps as creating any other Custom Field.
If you’re creating custom Section Headers to go beneath custom Major Section Headers, create the Major Section Headers first. The order of creation should be as follows:
- Create Custom Major Section Headers
- Create Custom Section Headers to place under Custom Major Section Headers
- Create Custom Fields or Custom Field Groups to place under Custom Major Section Headers or Custom Section Headers
Major Section Headers can be created for Matters and Plaintiffs, but not for Contacts. Section Headers can be created for Matters, Plaintiffs, and Contacts.
