Users are your coworkers on Clarra. They can be added as Team Members to Matters and Events, receive Docketing items through ClarraDocs, and submit Timeslips.
Contacts are people and parties outside of your organization that populate your virtual Rolodex on Clarra, so to speak. Contacts cover everyone beyond Users, from lawyers at other firms, to judges, experts, witnesses, insurers, companies, mediators, referral sources and more.
Contacts can be linked with specific Matters and Plaintiffs, letting you easily keep track of the relevant parties associated with each, and have their contact information and related notes readily accessible.
Contacts are not always people. Courts and companies are listed as Contacts, in connection with their relevant Matters. You can also link Contacts (people) with their companies, as long as both are added as Contacts.
You can message Contacts through Clarra via Communications. You can send Contacts Emails and Text messages through the Communications feature, as well as fellow Users.
To summarize, Users are members of your organization who have signed up for Clarra, and Contacts are any relevant parties whose information you wish to keep organized and available on the Clarra platform.
