Event Codes are fully customizable codes that let you understand and categorize an Event at a glance. They can be used to indicate what an Event is without having to select the Event and read its description.
You assign an Event Code to each Event you create. Event Codes can be as specific or general as you prefer, ranging from daily tasks to important Events that require careful attention.
Clarra comes with many preinstalled Event Codes that are commonly used. If you’d like to refine your Event Codes, you can edit or delete as many default options as you wish, and create new ones.
When it comes to litigation, one of the most valuable uses of Event Codes is to keep track of which phase your Matter is in. Cutoff codes, preinstalled on Clarra, clarify your cutoff to submit documents to Discovery (CU-DISC), or your last opportunity to submit a motion (CU-MOTIONS), for example. Codes with the F- prefix and R- prefix serve similar purposes for filing and response deadlines, respectively.
Many users benefit from these default codes, and just as many enjoy the flexibility of customizing codes. Let’s learn how to add, edit, and delete Event Codes.
