If the trigger date for an event, such as a trial date, is postponed—say by 60 days—any related events previously calculated by CalendarRules may need recalculating. Here’s how to adjust the trigger date and reassess related events effectively:
- Review Existing Events: Before changing the date, review the associated events by clicking "CLICK HERE to view related events" located at the top middle of the trigger event page. Close the list once reviewed.
- Update the Trigger Event:
- Enter the new date for the trigger event and apply any necessary modifications.
- Click “Save” or “Save and Calculate Docket.” A prompt will appear asking, "This event has related events, would you like to update them?" You will have two options:
- Select Yes to proceed with recalculating the related events. You'll have the opportunity to review, edit, and choose which ones to update in the following steps.
- Select No if you do not wish to update the related events.
- Recalculation Options:
- If you selected Yes, you will face another prompt: “Do you want to see all related events or only update the existing related events?” with two choices:
- Show me all related events: This option takes you through the Docket Calculator as if calculating a new docket. It recalculates all related events but only saves those you select. Unchecked events will not be recalculated, and any existing events that are not selected will remain as is.
- Update only the existing events: This displays only the recalculated dates for events already in the system based on the original trigger date. Only the recalculated events selected by the user during this process will be saved.
- If you selected Yes, you will face another prompt: “Do you want to see all related events or only update the existing related events?” with two choices:
This streamlined approach ensures you can quickly adapt to changes without redoing the entire docket, saving time and maintaining accuracy in your schedule planning.
